This is the boat we took back to Naples. The trip takes 45 minutes with the hovercraft jet type boat depicted here. It is called an aliscafo, literally a "winged boat." Another type is the traghetto, a conventional, propeller-driven boat that takes 1 1/2 hours. The boat above, however, featured airplane style seating with some tables, air conditioning, and TV screens with Italian television.
You could not go on the uppermost deck either going out or coming back. In the past, on the traghetto that had been possible. You could really feel and experience the Mediterranean Sea, as well as catch a panoramic view of Naples from out in the Bay. The trip on the ship depicted above, however, was more like being inside an airplane, although there were some large observation windows . On the voyage out to Capri, the TV monitors showed you what was outside.

Here is a brief movie of the boat and the port shortly before we embarked for Napoli.

A different boat, the Orion, also belonging to SNAV boat lines.
Here is a brief movie of the boat docking.
