CdD's Naples '08 presents...
Galleria Umberto

A view of the interior.
I broke a tooth as I was sitting in a cafe' here in the early (for Naples)
morning.
I was on my way to see a relative in another part of the city. The morning in
question was not a good one. Usually I pass for a local,
or at least an Italian visiting from another region. Not fully awake and
preoccupied,
I somehow gave myself away as a foreigner when placing my order. The waitress, a
pleasant looking, even pretty young blond woman,
shocked me by asking me where I was from as in what country. I stammered for a
response, not anticipating the inquiry,
which of course made me look like even more of a foreigner.
Then when she brought my order, a mushy pizzetta - which I fear they
nuked (microwaved) -
I broke a rear molar on an old filling on the very first bite.
